Message I recently had my Z32 tuned to a not-too-shabby, 518 RWHP. Before I upgrade turbos, I always look at things that I could still do, to run more efficient and gain more power/torque.

I have the common Wiseco/Eagle/Clevite bottom end, R5 cams, some port and polish, 740cc injectors, 2.5" IC with Massives, and GT2860RS aka Sport 700's.

I've been calling around people to see if there is other things I can do to my Z, in order to extract more power. Just recently, I spoke with Coz @ Concept Z Performance. I asked him, what was the max power he had made on a similar setup (same turbos, engine, 91 octane, no nitrous, no meth) and came to the dream-shattering surprise that he has made 700RWHP on an almost same setup, BUT with a stand-alone ECU at 30psi with 91 octane. (close to 900rwhp on race fuel).

I was exalted to learn that there is yet more things to do to my Z. I briefly asked him how it was possible, and he mentioned that a stand-alone is the reason why he made such power (detonation?), and that the Nissan ECU did not have the capability to read advanced fuel maps.

So now, my question is.. what the hell am I doing? Is there someone out there with more knowledge on a stand-alone setup that could enlighten me? If this is possible, I would definitely liked to learn more about it!
